Brandi Rose Stevens
Brandi is a life-long resident of Tangipahoa Parish. She graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 2003. In 2007, she graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Accounting. She has worked in the Accounting industry for 13 years. In 2017, she decided to open her own business, BRS Tax and Bookkeeping. BRS Tax and Bookkeeping has been named Best Accountant by Daily Star readers in 2018 and Best Accountant by Tangi Lifestyle readers in 2020.
Her entire family has been small business owners in Hammond for over 50 years which has been her driving force and inspiration. She is passionate about helping the small entrepreneur achieve success. She is very proud of how successful her small business has become in such a short time. She hopes that her business will continue to flourish and that she will be able to continue helping serve the Tangipahoa Parish community. In addition to her Accounting business, she helps manage her husband’s flooring and granite businesses as well as their rental properties.
Brandi is a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond. She loves the beach, traveling and enjoys spending time with her husband, Danny and their two children, Addie Rose who is 6 and Jett who is 3.
Veda Abene, Bookkeeper
Veda is a life-long resident of Tangipahoa Parish. She graduated from Independence High School in 1978. In 1982, she graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a BA Degree in Business Education. She began working at Southeastern Louisiana University in 1982 where she was employed in the Student Union and then spent over 25 years in Continuing Education. In 1990, she received a MA Degree in Administration and Supervision. She retired from Southeastern in 2012 and then was re-employed at the University until 2014. After retirement, she decided that staying home was not her cup of tea. She began working part-time at an Accounting Office in Hammond. In 2017, she began working at BRS Tax and Bookkeeping. She has enjoyed working part-time at BRS which has given her the opportunity to continue to stay active while helping serve her community.
She enjoys spending time with her family and enjoys decorating for any occasion. She is a member of Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church in Tickfaw where she serves as a Lector. She is also very involved in the Italian Festival that is also held in Tickfaw and has served as Chairperson and Co-Chairperson for several years. She also enjoys walking and watching sports, especially football and baseball.
T.J. Burrescia
T.J. worked in many fields of business around the Hammond area before finding employment at a local tax office 5 years ago. There he worked alongside Brandi Stevens and Veda Abene learning the ins and outs of tax work for two years before joining the team at BRS Tax & Bookkeeping. T.J. works hard to provide top notch service to their customers while continuing to gain knowledge about taxes and book keeping under Brandi's guidance. Outside of work T.J. enjoys spending time with his friends and family and is an active patron of the arts.
